A new nickel(II) dithiocarbamate complex, bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethylhydrogendithiocarbamato)nickel(II), has been synthesised. A detailed analysis of the IR and electronic spectra of bis(di-2,2,2-trifluoroethyldithiocarbamato)nickel(II) and bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethylhydrogendithiocarbamato)nickel(II) is reported together with a brief discussion of the volatility characteristics of these complexes.
