Solid solutions of bis(N,N-diethyldithiocarbamato)copper(II) in a zinc matrix were studied by means of EPR. The spectra may be interpreted with a S=1 Hamiltonian giving proof of spin-spin interactions between pairs of copper ions within isolated dimers. The magnetic parameters obtained were used to calculate the MO coefficients α, β, k and k0 which indicated high in-plane covalency. The observed spin interactions were then interpreted in terms of electron delocalization via the bridging sulfur atoms.
