  • One Pranoprofen drug-based metal coordination polymer: Synthesis, structure and properties
  • Add time:07/16/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

One new metal coordination polymer constructed from Pranoprofen drug ligand, namely, [Co(L)2]n (or 1) (HL = 2-(5H-chromeno[2,3-b]pyridin-7-yl) propanoic acid), has been obtained by the solvothermal reaction, which was characterized by element analyses, FT-IR, X-ray single-crystal diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). Complex 1 displays a two-dimensional layer structure connected by Pranoprofen anions, which can be further extended to a three-dimensional supramolecular architecture via hydrogen bonding interactions. The primary anti-bacterial experimental results show that complex 1 exhibits the promising activities against two gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes) and two gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa), which is obviously superior to that of free ligand Pranoprofen. Moreover, the magnetism studies reveal that compound 1 exhibits an antiferromagnetic behavior.
