N-Acetyl and N-triazinyl 1- and 2-aminopyrenes were prepared and their absorption and fluorescence spectra as well as fluorescence quantum yield (qFl) in different solvents were measured. The dependence of fluorescence quantum yield on both structure and solvent polarity is discussed. The photophysical properties of 1- and 2-aminopyrenes and their N-derivatives are compared.
