The separation of isopropyl acetate/methyl methacrylate and methanol azeotropes is very important for recycling resources and protecting the environment. Ionic liquids (ILs) as excellent solvent are widely studied in recent years. This work investigates the feasibility for separating the isopropyl acetate/methyl methacrylate and methanol azeotropic mixtures using ionic liquid as solvent by liquid-liquid extraction. The two ternary systems of isopropyl acetate/methyl methacrylate + methanol + 1-methylmidazole hydrogen sulfate [MIM][HSO4] are measured at 288.15 K, 298.15 K and 318.15 K under 1 atm by liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) experiment. The extraction performance of IL is evaluated using the distribution coefficient (β) and selectivity (S). The σ-profiles of azeotropic mixtures and solvent based on COSMO-SAC are adopted to further analysis the internal relationship hydrogen bond between them. The liquid-liquid equilibrium data for four ternary systems are well correlated by the non-random two liquid (NRTL) and universal quasi-chemical (UNIQUAC) models.
