76986-15-7 Usage
General Description
2-amino-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)acetamide, also known as memantine, is a medication used to treat moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. It works by blocking the action of a neurotransmitter in the brain called glutamate, which is believed to be involved in the development and progression of Alzheimer's disease. Memantine is also used to treat dementia associated with Parkinson's disease and to reduce some of the symptoms of dementia, such as confusion and agitation. It is generally well-tolerated, with common side effects including dizziness, headache, and constipation. It is available in both oral and injectable formulations and is typically prescribed as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 76986-15-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,6,9,8 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 76986-15:
(7*7)+(6*6)+(5*9)+(4*8)+(3*6)+(2*1)+(1*5)=187
187 % 10 = 7
So 76986-15-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
