Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by chloro-trimethyl-silane and methoxymethyl-lithium. This reaction will need reagent diethyl ether. The reaction temperature is -78 ℃. The yield is about 50%.

Uses of (Methoxymethyl)trimethylsilane: it can be used to produce bromo(methoxy)methyltrimethylsilane. This reaction will need reagent Br₂ and solvent CCl₄.
