Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by chloro-trimethyl-silane and 1-chloro-pent-1-yne. This reaction will need reagent sodium and solvent diethyl ether. The reaction time is 5 min at Heating. The yield is about 51%.

Uses of 1-(Trimethylsilyl)-1-pentyne: it can be used to produce 1-(4-chloro-phenyl)-2-trimethylsilanyl-hex-2-en-1-one with 4-chloro-benzoyl chloride  at temperature of 20//35 ℃. This reaction is a kind of Metallation//Hydrozirconation//Acylation//Transmetallation. It will need reagent Cp2Zr(H)Cl, CuBr*SMe2 and solvent CH2Cl2, CH2Cl2 with reaction time of 30 min//20 min. The yield is about 85 %.
