7-Acetoxy-4-Methylcoumarin Uses

As a Pharmaceutical intermediates,7-Acetoxy-4-Methylcoumarin (CAS NO.2747-05-9) is used for the production of anti-allergy cromolyn sodium.

7-Acetoxy-4-Methylcoumarin Production

 Resorcinol derived 7-Acetoxy-4-Methylcoumarin (CAS NO.2747-05-9) by cyclization, acetylation . In the reaction tank by adding ethyl acetoacetate and resorcinol, stirring heated to 50 ℃ dissolved, then add sulfuric acid (to prevent the red material), heating reflux 1h. Vacuum evaporated, add acetyl ethyl acetate, reflux 1h, vacuum evaporated. Adding acetic anhydride, reflux 1h. Cooling to 80 ℃, slowly adding ethanol and cooling to 10 ℃, rejection filter, filter cake washed with ethanol to neutral, drying was 7 - Acetoxy -4 - methyl-coumarin. Melting point 150-153 ℃ (ethanol liquor evaporated and resorcinol can be used for post-cast material).
