GB 2760 - 1996 provides that 8-β-H-Cedran-8-ol acetate (CAS NO.77-54-3) is used for the use of edible spices, and it is also used for the deployment of woody flavor.

Cedryl acetate Production

Cypress alcohol by esterification with acetic acid or acetic anhydride, iwith sulfuric acid as catalyst. Then neutralization, washing, drying, and then by vacuum distillation, 8-β-H-Cedran-8-ol acetate (CAS NO.77-54-3) is derived.
