Hyaluronidase Specification

Hyaluronidase with the cas registry number of 37326-33-3 is an enzyme, aslo known as Hyaluronidase [INN:BAN]; Hyaluronidase; Hyalosidasum; Hyalosidasum [Latin]; Hyaluronat-4-glycanohydrolase; Hylosidasa; Hylosidasa [Spanish]; Mucinase; Spreading factor; Hyaluronoglucosaminidase. It can be used as a drug in conjunction with other drugs to speed their dispersion and delivery. It is mainly used in combination with local anesthetics n ophthalmic surgery. It also used as an adjunct in subcutaneous urography for improving resorption of radiopaque agents and increases the absorption rate of parenteral fluids given by hypodermoclysis. Hyalurodinase is also used for extravasation of hyperosmolar solutions. Usually a 0.2 ml of the drug is injected around the area of extravasation. A total of 1 ml is used.  Animal-derived hyaluronidase has several Brand names which are HydaseTM which has been approved as a "Thimerosal free" animal-derived hyaluronidase by FDA, Vitrase, Amphadase and Wydase which is no longer manufactured. On December 2, 2005, Hylenex, a synthetic "human" hyaluronidase, was approved by the FDA.

Preparetion of Hyaluronidase: Hyaluronidase can be produced from some bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Clostridium perfringens. Ias an antigenic disguise that prevents their being recognized by phagocytes of the immune system.
