Trandolapril Uses

 Trandolapril (CAS NO.87679-37-6) is used to treat high blood pressure, and it can also be used to treat other conditions. Trandolapril is a prodrug deesterified to trandolaprilat. It is believed that it exerts its antihypertensive effect through the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system.

Trandolapril's possible drug interactions: Patients on diuretics maybe will experience an excessive reduction of blood pressure after initiation of therapy with Trandolapril. Trandolapril (CAS NO.87679-37-6) can reduce potassium loss caused by thiazide diuretics, and increase serum potassium when used alone. So hyperkalemia is a possible risk. Increased serum lithum levels can occur in patients who are also on lithium.It should be stored in original container in a cool dark place.
