1. The brief introduction of Phloroglucinol
Phloroglucinol is the benzene-1,3,5-triol and has the appearance which is similar white to slight yellow crystal or white powder. Phloroglucinol was originally isolated from phloretin, a compound found in fruit trees, using potassium hydroxide. The organic compound behaves like a ketone in its reaction with hydroxylamine, forming the tris(oxime). Spasfon-Lyoc is another name of this chemical. Phloroglucinol can be used in lignin staining, you can even call "phloroglucinol staining". Phloroglucinol staining: Prepare a saturated solution of Phloroglucinol in 20 % HCl.
