Use of 2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl methacrylate: (1) 2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl methacrylate could react with 2-methyl-3-phenyl-propan-1-ol to produce 2-methyl-acrylic acid 2-methyl-3-phenyl-propyl ester.

This reation could occure in the following condition: solvent: various solvent(s); reaction time: 3.5 hours; reaction temp.: 25 ℃; other conditions: Pseudomonas sp. lipase; field: 52%.

(2) 2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl methacrylate could also react with methyl a-D-glucopyranoside to produce methyl 6-O-methacryloyl-a-D-glucopyranoside.

This reaction could occure in the following condition: reagent: proteinase N; solvent:dimethylformamide & H2O; reaction time: 7 days; reaction temp.: 45 ℃; other conditions: PH value(7.8); field: 33%.
