Uses of 2,3-Dimethylmaleic anhydride: it is used to produce other chemicals. For example, it can react with Methanol to get Dimethylmaleic acid dimethyl ester. The reaction occurs with reagent H2SO4 and other condition of heating for 93 hours. The yield is 90 %.
