Uses of 2-Propenoic acid,2-methyl-, 2-[(trimethylsilyl)oxy]ethyl ester: It can react with trimethylsilane to produce 1-[2-(Trimethylsiloxy)ethyl]-1-(trimethylsiloxy)-2-methylprop-1-ene. This reaction will need reagent 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol, catalyst RhCl₃^.6H₂O, and the menstruum tetrahydrofuran. The reaction temperature is 40-50°C, and the yield is about 77%.
