Meanwhile, it needs solvent Dimethylsulfoxide and catalyst [o-C6H4(P(NMe2)2)CH2PdOAc]2. The reaction time is 16 hours with reaction temperature of 120 °C. The yield is about 98 %.

Uses: it is used to produce other chemicals. For example, it is used to produce Formic acid 5-phenyl-bicyclo[2. 2. 1]hept-2-yl ester. The reaction time is 3 hours with reaction temperature of 120 °C. The yield is about 78.5 %.
