Ferric phosphate Specification

The Ferric phosphate, with its cas register number 10045-86-0, has its IUPAC name of iron(3+) phosphate. This is a kind of white, grey white or peach blossom monoclinic crystal or powder, and is insoluble in cold water and nitric acid. And this chemical belongs to the product category which is inorganics.

The characteristics of this chemical are as following: (1)H-Bond Acceptor: 4; (2)Rotatable Bond Count: 0; (3)Exact Mass: 150.888362; (4)MonoIsotopic Mass: 150.888362; (5)Topological Polar Surface Area: 86.2; (6)Heavy Atom Count: 6; (7)Complexity: 36.8; (8)Covalently-Bonded Unit Count: 2.

The production way is below: Firstly, add ferrisulphas in distilled water and then heat till they are totally dissolved; Secondly, in the presence of oxidizing agent, add arsenic-removing agent and heavy metal-removal agent to purify and filter the solvents; Thirdly, add fined ferrisulphas solvent into reactor, and add fined strong phosphoric acid( arsenic removing) and fined sodium chlorate solvent, and then react for about 30 mins in the temp. 85℃; Then add slowly caustic soda solvent and adjust the PH value to 2-6 in order to seperate out the iron phosphate. Lastly, go through the process of filtering, lavating, drying, and then you could get the Ferric phosphate. The method is going on under the following chemical reaction: 6FeSO4+6H3PO4+NaC1O3+12NaOH→6FePO4?2H2O+6Na2SO4+NaCl+13H2O.

As for its usage, it is widely applied in many ways. It could be used as nutrition enhancer or irony reinforcer in food industry, especially in bread. And then it could be used in the feed additive. When store it, keep it in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated storeroom.

When you are dealing with this chemical, you should be very cautious. For a kind of irritant chemical, it is irritant to the skin and eyes, and it may cause inflammation to the skin or other mucous membranes. So you had better take the following instructions. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, and if in case of contacting with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
