Modern process is heating treated animal bones to high temperatures in the absence of air. Bone black possesses high pigment performance, as it is a fine pure bluish black, easy to be dispersed, good storage stability, no seeding after dispersed. Bone black has good light resistance, heat resistance, and chemical resistance. Bone black is also a good hydrophile pigment which provide excellent performance in water-based coating and water-based ink.
