Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC), a water soluble polymer, is widely used in industries of construction coatings, petroleum, medicine, detergent & cosmetics, etc., having functions of thickening, bonding, emulsifying, dispersing, stabilizing, water retaining, and film forming, and protective colloids effect. The major commercial types of HEC are completely soluble in either hot or cold water, and are produced in a wide range of solution viscosity grade. 

Hydroxyethyl cellulose, as an white to off-white, odorless and tasteless powdered solid, is nonionic cellulose ether derived from natural polymer, cellulose, through a series of chemical processes.
