HPMC used in Cement-based plastering Mortar

1,HPMC can improve the uniformity of plastering mortar, making it easy to coating, at the same time improve the ability of anti-sag. It can also boost liquidity and pumpability of mortar, to improve the work efficiency.

2, With high water retention, HPMC can prolong the working time of mortar, improve work efficiency, and help the mortar in obtaining high mechanical strength in solidification period.

3, HPMC can control air infiltration, to eliminate the tiny cracks of coating, to format the ideal smooth surface.


HPMC used in Masonry mortar

1, HPMC can improve the adhesiveness between mortar and masonry. And the water-retaining property of HPMC is useful in raising the strength of mortar.

2, HPMC improves the lubricity and plasticity of mortar, so as to make the construction easier, to save time, to reduce the cost.

3, For superabsorbent masonry, it is more important to use HPMC in the mortar.

The product properties

Properties:  this product is a white or kind of white powder. It is non-toxic, odorless and tasteless.

Water soluble and thickening ability: this product is soluble in cold water and come into being transparent viscous solution.

Dissolved in organic solvents: because of containing a certain amount of hydrophobic methoxyl, this product is soluble in some organic solvent, and it can be also dissolve in water and organic mixed solvents.

Salt resistance: because this product is non-ionic polymer, it is stable in metal salt or organic electrolyte aqueous solution.

Surface activity: the aqueous solution of this product has surface activity, it has function of emulsification, protective colloid and relatively stability.

Thermal gelation function: when the aqueous solution of the product heated to a certain temperature, it becomes opaque and turns into flocculation state with a bereft of viscosity. But after cooling, it will be transformed into the original solution state. The temperature of gel phenomenon depends on the type of product, the concentration of the solution and heating rate.

Low ash content：Because of the thermal gelation, in the process of production， it can be refined by hot water washing the products.

PH stability: the viscosity of this product’s aqueous solution is stable in PH3.0-11.0.

Water retention: since this product is hydrophilic, it can be added to the mortar, plaster, paint, etc, to keep water effectively.

Shape preserving: compared with other water-soluble polymer, the product’s aqueous solution can have special viscoelastic. Its joining has the ability to keep the shape of the extruded ceramic products unchanged.

Lubricity: this product can reduce the friction coefficient and improve the lubricity of extruded ceramic products and cement products.

Film-forming: this product can turns into flexible, transparent and excellent mechanical properties thin films, it has good performance of resistance to oil and grease.

color-change temperature: 190~200℃

surface tension: 42~56dyn/cm in 2% aqueous solution

solubility property: Soluble in water and some solvent, water solution has surface activity. High transparency and stable performance.  Solubility will be changed with viscosity, lower viscosity, more solubility.
