CHEMICAL SPECIFICATION TESTS SPECIFICATIONS Solubility Freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol. Identification A, B, C and D are +ve. Appearance of solution 5 % w/v solution is clear and colourless. Acidity or alkalinity NMT 0.4 ml of 0.01 M Sodium hydroxide required to change the colour to blue. Related substances Any secondary spot obtained with the test solution is not more intense than the spot obtain with reference solution [a] [1 %] and at most one such spot is more intense than the spot obtained with reference solution [b] [0.2 %]. Chlorides NMT 400 ppm. Heavy metals NMT 20 ppm. Loss on drying NMT 0.5 % Sulphated ash NMT 0.1 % Assay NLT 98.5 % and NMT 101.0 % on dried basis. PACKAGING 25 Kgs Blue HDPE Drum. STORAGE Store in cool, dry place in well-closed containers.
