DescriptionGabapentin-lactam, a cell permeable compound, has been reported to reduce oxygen glucose deprivation-induced [3H]glutamate release in rat ischemia hippocampal slices. Glutamate has been an excitotoxin and its inhibition can decrease the number of surviving ganglion cells in vitro.
