It is an antioxidant that neither colour nor discolour. It is used for white and light products as rubber, latex, petrochemicals, plastics, fiber as in the paint-and-lacquer industry and in others also. It is nontoxic, unvolatile and stable at storage. It is readily soluble in alcohol, acetone, ehtyl acetate, carbon tetrachloride and benzene, hardly soluble in petrol, practically water insoluble.
