Introduction:
Protein A is a cell wall protein of Staphylococcus aureus and contains five functional domains that can bind to the Fc fragment of IgG. As an affinity ligand, protein A is conjugated to Sepharose and its functional domains are available for binding IgG. One molecule of conjugated protein A can bind at least two molecules of IgG.
