Alginic acid E404 Calcium Alginate
What is Alginic Acid
Alginate Acid, a polysaccharide extracted from kelp-like Phaeophyceae, formed by L-Mannuronic acid (M section) and D-Guluronic acid (G section), connected through 1,4-glucosidic bond. Alginate acid is in a instability state, and it can react with positive metal ion to form a series of alginate products.
Function of Alginic Acid
Application of Alginic Acid
Main raw material for gastropine.
Agent for the new medicine PSS, with the strong dispersing and emulsifying character.
Can combine with many kinds of ions to creat a series of salts, such as sodium alginate, potassium alginate, calcium alginate etc. Applied in health food or used as health food additive.
Alginic acid is a natural polysaccharide extracted from seaweed. It is made of the two types of aldehyde acids. Flaxen powder, it isn't able to soluble in water.
With the characters of its strong adsorbability, it is used in water purification processing etc.
