Superiority:
Comprehensive introduction
Hydroxyethyl urea is a new moisturizer with outstanding advantages.
Compared with the traditional moisturizer, hydroxyethyl urea has more significant moisturizing effect, smooth coating feeling, comfortable feeling of non sticky, non greasy and moisturizing in skin care products, as well as a wide range of applicability brought by its own non-ionic property.
Compared with expensive humectants, hydroxyethyl urea can achieve the same effect at lower formulation cost.
Even in the basic formula based on glycerol and propylene glycol, hydroxyethyl urea can achieve better moisturizing effect, smoother coating feeling and the same or even lower formula cost by reducing the amount of other components (such as silicone oil) that affect the appearance of cream.
Even in extreme conditions, 6% relative humidity, hydroxyethyl urea can form liquid crystal phase with cuticle to prevent the cuticle from transforming into solid crystal phase, so as to achieve the purpose of softening skin.
Technical index
Appearance (@ 25 ℃): colorless, tasteless and transparent liquid
PH (10% aqueous solution): 6.0-7.5
Solid content%: 48.0 ~ 52.0
Conductivity (10% aqueous solution): < 150
Urea (wt%): < 1%
Scope of application
Hydroxyethyl urea has excellent moisturizing effect and skin feeling, and is safe for skin and eyes, so it can be widely used in:
-
Skin care products, all kinds of cream and emulsion.
-
Essence and various transparent products
-
Sunscreen products: sunscreen products, self tanning products and after sun products
-
Hair removal and deodorization products
-
Hair products: shampoo, hair conditioner, hair styling products, hair dye products, Zhili water, etc
Effect performance
Hygroscopicity was tested by dynamic vapor adsorption
Results: hydroxyethyl urea absorbed 82% of its own water, while glycerol absorbed only 34% of its own water (the sample was balanced at 36 ℃ and 85% relative humidity)
Skin moisturizing
Hydroxyethyl urea can diffuse to the cuticle of the skin, increase the hydration of the skin, reduce the clinical dry record, increase the skin elasticity, and have a very moist skin feeling. Hydroxyethyl urea and glycerin have better moisturizing effect and more comfortable skin feeling at the same active substance content. The same results were obtained in the comparison of clinical trials of volunteers.
1. Cuticle tester to test the moisturizing effect
Apply carbomer gel containing 5% active substance hydroxyethyl urea and glycerin to the forearm of the tester with dry skin. The humidity (23 ℃ and 32% relative humidity) was measured before and after use for 5min, 15min, 1H, 2h, 4h, 6h and 24h.
2. The elasticity of skin was measured by gas orientation dynamometer
Apply carbomer gel containing 5% active substance hydroxyethyl urea and glycerin to the forearm of the tester with dry skin. The skin elasticity (23 ℃ and 32% relative humidity) was measured before and after 5 min, 15 min, 1 h, 2 h, 8 h and 24 h after use.
3. Comparison with other moisturizers:
Hydroxyethyl urea has more outstanding moisturizing effect than glycerin and other commonly used moisturizers, and has a very good coating feeling and excellent skin feeling after use. However, glycerin left a negative effect on the tester's hand feeling sticky, thick and residue. Compared with other humectants tested (such as PAC sodium, sorbitol, urea), hydroxyethyl urea is more prominent in many aspects. In particular, hydroxyethyl urea has higher wettability, easier coating, low consistency and little residual skin feeling, and is not shiny and sticky. In terms of skin absorption speed, it is half faster than glycerin.
Recommended dosage: 1% ~ 20%
Use: hydroxyethyl urea is stable in a wide range of pH and temperature, and can be easily added at any temperature
aqueous phase
Storage
Sealed and protected from light
When stored at 50% high concentration for more than half a year, it will decompose slightly with light ammonia smell, monoethanolamine and CO2 will be generated, and the pH value will increase. It can be directly adjusted to the appropriate pH in the formula, and the stabilizer such as triethyl citrate can be added, which does not affect the use. However, in the use of the formula, the overall concentration is low, and there will be no decomposition and free ammonia.
Biodegradability
The experiment of CO2 change (OECD 301B) shows that hydroxyethyl urea is easy to degrade
Product application field
