Serum separation gel is a kind of colorless transparent colloid which can separate serum and blood clot. It is physiologically inert and insoluble in water. There are a lot of hydrogen bonds in its structure. The network structure composed of hydrogen bonds has excellent thixotropic and isolation properties.

Scope of application: it is specially used to manufacture disposable vacuum blood collection vessels and injection blood collection vessels, which are necessary materials for the preparation of high-quality serum and blood samples for preservation, transmission and transfer in clinical examination.

Separation principle: the separation gel has good thixotropy and isolation properties. When the gel and the coagulated blood are centrifuged in the same tube, the hydrogen bond between the gel molecules is broken under the action of centrifugal force, and the gel is converted into a low viscosity fluid. Because its specific gravity is between the blood cell and the serum, the gel gradually accumulates between the serum and the blood clot during centrifugation.
