Usage

This product is an antiviral drug, which is highly active against retroviruses including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in vitro. In virus-infected cells, it is phosphorylated by cellular thymidine kinase to zidovudine triphosphate, which can selectively inhibit HIV reversal enzyme, leading to the termination of HIV chain synthesis and preventing HIV replication.
