Details:

Luminol   is a chemiluminescent reagent that emits light when in contact with hemoglobin. Because of its special chemiluminescence principle, it is often used to find blood stains. But it also has some disadvantages. In addition to hemoglobin, there are many substances that make it glow when in contact with hemoglobin.

Luminol fluoresces in the presence of copper, copper containing alloys, horseradish or some bleach. Therefore, if the blood is thoroughly treated with bleach, the fluorescence emitted by luminol will strongly mask the existence of any blood stain.

2. Some household products, such as oil, detergent, insecticide and various glues, paints and varnishes, will also interfere with luminol.

3. Luminol can detect a small amount of blood in animal blood and urine. Therefore, if the room to be tested contains urine or animal blood, the test results will be biased. Luminol reacts with excreta and emits the same light as blood.

4. Luminol will emit blue light when oxidized. Due to this characteristic, some strong oxidizing substances will interfere with luminol reaction, such as potassium permanganate, fresh chlorine water, hydrogen peroxide, ozone, etc.

When preparing the solution with luminol, note that the luminous intensity of the above substances is equal to that of undiluted hemoglobin, which may affect the detection effect of luminol. Therefore, when using luminol for detection in these cases, be very careful not to distinguish errors.

Desheng company, founded in 2005, is located in Wuhan, the hinterland of central China with convenient transportation. As a manufacturer of chemiluminescence reagents, we currently produce many kinds of products. If necessary, please call us.
