Description

Tranexamic acid, a synthetic derivative of lysine, is a hemostatic agent commonly used in clinical practice, which plays a hemostatic effect by inhibiting the dissolution of fibrin. Trantranic acid strongly adsorbed to the lysine-binding sites (LBChemicalbookS) of fibrinolytic affinity sites on fibrinolytic enzyme and plasminogen, and inhibited the binding of fibrinolytic enzyme, plasminogen and fibrin, and thus inhibited the fibrinolytic decomposition caused by fibrinolytic enzyme. In addition, the antifibrinolytic effect of tranexamic acid is more obvious in the presence of antifibrinolytic enzyme such as macroglobulin in serum.

Application

1. Antifibrinolytic agent; blocks lysine binding sites of plasminogen. Hemostatic.

3. Fibrinolysis, the cleavage of fibrin by plasmin, is a normal step in the dissolution of fibrin clots after wound repair. Tranexamic acid is an inhibitor of fibrinolysis that blocks the interaction of plasmin with fibrin (IC50 = 3.1 μM). It is a lysine mimetic that binds the lysine binding site in plasmin. Antifibrinolytic agents have value when fibrinolytic activity is abnormally high or when coagulation is impaired.
