What is Octocrylene
Octocrylene, an oil-soluble UV absorber, is insoluble in water. Helps dissolve other oil-soluble solid sunscreens. It has the advantages of high absorption rate, non-toxicity, no teratogenic effect, good light and thermal stability, etc. It can absorb UV-B and a small amount of UV-A.
Recommended dosage in formula: 2.7 – 10 %
Usgae:Octocrylene is a mild UVB absorber. It is an oil-soluble yellow transparent viscous liquid, insoluble in water. It can be used in oil-phase sunscreen formulations and is the most effective stabilizer of avobenzone. Octocrylene is an excellent solubilizer for solid and crystalline UV absorbers, such as avobenzone, octyl triazone, diethylaminohydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, benzophenone-3, etc. Combine with other UV absorbers for high SPF.
