As the concentration of indole-3-methanol increased, the expression of Livin gradually decreased, indicating a negative correlation between the expression of Livin protein and the apoptosis rate of human laryngeal cancer cell line Hep-2 after indole-3-methanol treatment. This suggests that Livin protein may play a certain role in the process of indole-3-methanol induced apoptosis of human laryngeal cancer cells. Indole-3-methanol can only induce apoptosis in cancer cells and is safe for non tumor cells without cytotoxicity [8]. Due to its efficient, non-toxic, and natural anti-tumor properties, indole-3-methanol can be one of the candidates for tumor prevention and treatment drugs. The molecular mechanism of indole-3-methanol inhibiting laryngeal cancer cells still needs further research to provide a theoretical basis for future clinical drug research.
