Cesium carbonate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Cs2CO3. It is a white solid at normal temperature and pressure. It is easily soluble in water and absorbs moisture quickly when placed in air. Cesium carbonate aqueous solution is strongly basic, and can react with acid to produce the corresponding cesium salt and water, and release carbon dioxide. Cesium carbonate should be sealed, dry and stored separately from acids when stored.
