Application
Levamisole is also known as levamisole, levamisole hook roundworm, and anthelmintic. It is the left-handed isomer of thiamidine, and its hydrochloride or phosphate is commonly used. It is a white or off-white crystalline powder; it is odorless, bitter, and very soluble in water. The hydrochloride is easily soluble in ethanol, and the phosphate is slightly soluble. It is easy to decompose and become ineffective in alkaline aqueous solutions.
Levamisole is a synthetic broad-spectrum anthelmintic. After entering the insect body, it inhibits the activity of succinate dehydrogenase in the insect muscle, so that fumaric acid cannot be reduced to succinic acid, sugar metabolism is impaired, energy production is insufficient, and the insect muscle is paralyzed and excreted from the body.
Levamisole is often used to deworm various animals, and is effective for both adults and larvae. It can drive eye parasites for a variety of nematodes.
