160 which is a difunctional alpha‐OH Ketone is a new photoinitiator characterized by excellent reactivity especially in comparison with conventional alpha hydroxy ketones. Its molecule was suited to shift the absorption spectrum to longer wavelength and to work perfectly with pigmented systems using conventional UV equipments. It shows a good performance with clear coatings too. HRcure-P160 is suitable for all systems where low VOC, low migration and low extraction values are needed. Optimum concentration is between 2 and 5% by weight and depends on system composition, thickness, and Desired cure speed.
