Description : RAFOXANIDE is an anthelmintic used for the treatment and control of liver fluke in sheep and cattle. Our product conforms to British Pharmacopoeia (Veterinary) 1985. Chemical Name : 3’-chloro-4’-p-chlorophenoxy-3,5-di-iodosalicylanilide CAS Registry No. : [22662-39-1] Structural Formula : Specifications : The product conforms to B. Vet. C. (1985) a) Appearance: A greyish white to brown powder b) Identification : i) Infra-red absorption spectrum : Concordant with the reference spectrum of Rafoxanide ii) Light absorption of a 0.004% : Absorbance at 280 nm, about 0.97 and at (w/v) solution in 0.1M 335 nm, about 0.59 melthanolic hydrochloric acid c) Melting point : About 175°C d) Related substances (by TLC method as per Amendment No.1, B. Vet. C., (1985) : passes e) Loss on drying at 90°C (for 2 hrs): Loses not more than 0.5% of its weight at a pressure not exceeding 0.7 KPa f) Sulphated ash : 0.1% (w/w) maximumg) Assay: 98 to 101% (w/w) Shelf-life : Five years under normal storage conditions. Packing : 50 kg UN approved galvanized or fibre board drums with an LDPE liner.
