As an initiator for styrene-butadiene rubber polymerization, the initiation rate is 30%-50% faster than cumene peroxide but slower than triisopropylbenzene peroxide and tert-butyl cumene peroxide.
It can also be used as an initiator for other polymers.
Polymerization Initiator:
For high-temperature bulk, solution, or suspension polymerization of monomers such as styrene (PS), acrylates (PMMA), and vinyl acetate.
Curing / Crosslinking Agent:
As a medium-to-high temperature curing agent for Unsaturated Polyester Resins (UPR), especially for compression molding of Sheet Molding Compounds (SMC) and Bulk Molding Compounds (BMC).
