F14 Furfural Acetone Resin
Alias: High-temperature High-carbon-value Resin, Furan Resin
F14 furfural acetone resin is a new-type environmentally friendly high-temperature and high-carbon-value resin, a brown viscous liquid, with a residual carbon content as high as over 58 - 60%. It has excellent acid and alkali resistance and serves as an impregnating resin for composite materials with carbon fiber-reinforced carbon matrix. The produced carbon/carbon (C/C) composite material can withstand temperatures up to over 2100°C, has a density lower than 2.0g/cm³, and its strength is 5 times that of high-temperature alloys. It is an excellent lightweight high-temperature structural material. It has become an irreplaceable thermal structural material in the aerospace field, used for rocket engine nozzles, missile nose cones, and aviation brake accessories. It is light in weight (only about 1/4 of the metal matrix) and has a long service life (5 - 7 times that of the metal matrix).
This furan resin, in the presence of an acid curing agent, can be cured at room temperature into an insoluble and infusible polymer, capable of withstanding heat of 450 - 500°C. It is widely used for impregnating graphite, carbon fiber products, and manufacturing FRP (fiberglass-reinforced plastic) graphite carbon fiber components resistant to high temperatures and corrosion. Its molding methods include molding method, hand lay-up method, and filament winding molding method.
The performance of the produced carbon fiber laminated sheet is as follows: relative density 1.7, water absorption 0.1%, tensile strength 208.74MPa, bending strength 147MPa, compressive strength 348.88MPa, impact strength 186.2kJ/m², dielectric constant 7.9, volume resistivity 2×10¹?Ω·cm, dielectric loss tangent 0.013, breakdown voltage strength 17.5MV/m. Two-component (resin and curing agent).

It can be used to manufacture carbon fiber - reinforced structural adhesive resins, carbon/carbon composite laminates, acid - resistant and corrosion - resistant adhesives, and electrical insulation coatings. Owing to good wear resistance, it can be used for aircraft brake
accessories, automobile brake pads, and refractory materials. It is used for impregnating various porous substances such as wood, graphite, ceramics, rock wool, glass cloth, and carbon fiber materials. After curing, it becomes a high - strength, high - temperature - resistant composite material with excellent chemical resistance, and can be used to manufacture components of liquid - fuel rockets.
F14 furan resin can be used to modify epoxy resin for the protective coating of ship propellers. When added to concrete during construction, it can improve the strength and acid - alkali resistance of concrete.
Two - component: F14 resin and curing agent. Ratio: 100 parts of resin to 2 - 15 parts of curing agent. First, put the resin into a container, then slowly add the curing agent drop by drop while stirring evenly. The amount of curing agent added can be adjusted according to the required curing time.
Packed in iron drums or plastic drums, with a net weight of 30 - 230 kg per drum. Avoid direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry place.
