Physical and Chemical Properties	This product is white or light yellow freeze-dried powder, soluble in water. It is stable at room temperature and rapidly inactivated when heated above 60 ℃. After dissolution, it will not fail within two weeks after low temperature storage. Inactivation of proteolytic enzymes, cystine, oxidants (such as potassium permanganate, iodine), etc. This product is a glycoprotein extracted from the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. It is composed of two peptide chains of α and β. TSH-α is composed of 96 amino acids with a molecular weight of about 13600. TSH-β contains 112-113 amino acids. The molecular weight is about 14700. The former contains two oligopolysaccharides and the latter contains one oligopolysaccharide. TSH-β chain is specific. The species specificity of TSH is not great, but the TSH of other animals is easy to produce antibodies after being used in humans, so that the effect is weakened. TSH stimulates a series of processes such as iodine uptake, iodine activation, synthesis of T3 and T4, hydrolysis of thyroglobulin and release of T3 and T4. It can also increase the intake of glucose and amino acids by thyroid cells, increase the oxidation of glucose, and enhance the synthesis of RNA and protein; it also makes the fat of adipose tissue break down. When TSH is too much, the thyroid gland is hyperplastic and the blood vessels are abundant. The effect of TSH is that it activates the adenylate cyclase in the thyroid gland to generate cAMP as a second messenger.
