TCA-LA is a water based titanium chelate that is stable in water at pH 7 even in the presence of possible reactants. TCA-LA is an excellent choice fuse in aqueous systems. It is stable so long as the pH is maintained around 7~8. TCA-LA can act as catalyst in applications such as esterification, transesterification, condensation.
TCA-LA can effect crosslinking of -OH functional polymers, adhesion promotion, formation of polymeric titanium dioxide as binder coating. Some regular commercial applications are as below fyour information:
1. Catalyst:
TCA-LA is an effective catalyst festerification, transesterification, condensation, addition reactions. It is especially well-suited to direct esterification processes due to its excellent compatibility with the water byproduct. Effects are moderate reaction rates, high yield, easy work-up, low toxicity, low catalyst concentration.
2. Oil well fracturing fluids:
TCA-LA is an effective crosslinker fdispersions of guar its derivatives to form high viscosity aqueous gels used in oil well fracturing applications.
3. Paints coatings:
TCA-LA can crosslink binders in -OH functional water borne paints. Heating can be used to form a polymeric titanium dioxide layer used as binder coating on various substrates to effect e. G. Adhesion, increased surface hardness, heat light reflection, corrosion resistance, scratch resistance.
