  • 31P NMR studies of a trimethylphosphine—silver(I) iodide complex, [AgI.P(CH3)3]4, in acetonitrile-d3 solution
  • Add time:08/09/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

The 31P NMR spectrum of 1:1 complex of trimethylphosphine and silver(I) iodide in acetonitrile-d3 solution is reported. The 31P NMR spectrum of the complex relative to that of the free ligand in the same solvent shows a downfield chemical shift of 7.1 ppm. In solution, the presence of two trimethylphosphine—silver(I) iodide complexes is indicated, assigned to a tetramer and a manomer with a species ratio of 27:1 at 293 K. Evidence for the formation of trimethylphosphine oxide as a decomposition product in the acetonitrile-d3 solution on standing is also presented.
