Seven heterobimetallic isopropoxide derivatives of lanthanum have been synthesized by the reaction of LaCl3·3PriOH with K02(OPri)9 in different molar ratios (1:1, 1:2, 1:3) to yield hydrocarbon-soluble derivatives of the types [Cl3-nLa{Zr2(OPri)9}n] (n = 1, 2 or 3). The reactions of the above bimetallic chloride isopropoxides with the appropriate potassium alkoxides yield derivatives of the types [(OR)3-n La{Zr2(OPri)9}n] (n = 1 or 2; R = Pri and But). All these have been characterized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic (IR and NMR) studies.
