Publisher SummaryThis chapter covers the chemistry of pyridazine and its benzo derivatives; and a useful background review of the chemistry in this area in the period 1982-95 is available. The hydroformlation reaction can be tuned by a suitable choice of catalyst and reaction conditions, thus allowing the preparation with high selectivity of one of the two possible isomeric aldehydes and a variety of metal ion-pyridazine complexes have been prepared and their structures, properties and reactions are studied.
