  • Adsorption of disperse blue 14 onto activated carbon prepared from Jackfruit-PPI-I waste
  • Add time:09/05/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

The present study is to prepare activated carbon from Jackfruit-PPI-1 waste at 600 °C and named as JC600. Characterization of the prepared activated carbon by SEM, BET. Thermal stability of carbons was analyzed by TGA and TPD studies. Batch mode experiments were conducted to know the adsorption capacity of prepared activated carbon for the removal of Disperse Blue 14 (DB14). Equilibrium isotherm equations used to describe experimental adsorption data were Freundlich, Langmuir, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich. In adsorption process of selected dye, fitting of the kinetic data demonstrate that the dynamics of sorption could be better described by pseudo-second-order model indicating a chemisorptive rate-limiting.
