The Structure of UREA, POLYMER with FORMALDEHYDE(9011-05-6):
Urea formaldehyde moulding compound Uses
UREA, POLYMER with FORMALDEHYDE(9011-05-6) is used in the manufacture of fiberboard boards, foam boards, and bamboo wood adhesive.
UREA, POLYMER with FORMALDEHYDE(9011-05-6) is also used in the treatment of fabric and paper.
UREA, POLYMER with FORMALDEHYDE(9011-05-6) is used for making closures and buttons as commodity.
UREA, POLYMER with FORMALDEHYDE(9011-05-6) is used in wood, plywood, furniture, machinery repair and other wood material binder.
Urea formaldehyde moulding compound Production
Urea resins (9011-05-6) are formed by the reaction of urea with formaldehyde (Fig.1). Monomethylolurea (HOH
2CNHCONH
2) and dimethylolurea (HOH
2CNHCONHCH
2OH) are formed first under alkaline conditions. Continued reaction under acidic conditions gives a fairly linear, low-molecular-weight intermediate polymer.
A catalyst and controlled temperature are also needed and, since the amine may not be readily soluble in water or formalin at room temperature, it is necessary to heat it to about 80℃ to obtain the methylol compounds for many amine-formaldehyde resins.
