Preparation of 1H-Benzimidazole, 2-chloro-1-phenyl-: it is prepared by reaction of 1-Phenyl-1,3-dihydro-benzoimidazol-2-one. The reaction needs reagent phenylphosphonic dichloride at the temperature of 170 °C. The yield is about 60%.
