Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by prop-2-en-1-ol and 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran. This reaction will need reagent LiBH4 and solvent acetonitrile. The reaction time is 30 min with reaction temperature of 20 °C. The yield is about 93%.

Uses of 2H-Pyran,tetrahydro-2-(2-propen-1-yloxy)-: it can be used to produce 2-(2,2-dibromo-cyclopropylmethoxy)-tetrahydro-pyran. The yield is about 64%.
