 2-Cyano-6-methoxybenzothiazole (CAS NO.943-03-3) is mainly used as dye intermediates.For example, we used in the manufacture of Cationic Brilliant Blue RL, Huang cation 2RL, prepared by its 6-methoxy-3-methyl-Benzothiazole hydrazone, and then get the production such as cationic Huang GL.

Firstly,through the reaction of p-Anisidine hydrochloride and sodium thiocyanate, we can get methoxy-phenyl thiourea, and then by closed-loop derived from Sulfur and chloride to get the 2-Cyano-6-methoxybenzothiazole.
