2-Isopropyl-6-methylpyrimidin-4-ol Production

Its preparation is obtained by the different isobutyraldehyde nitrile with methanol and hydrogen chloride reaction, made imine ether hydrochloride. Reaction equation is as follows:
By the imine ether hydrochloride with ammonia to produce iso-Spd, and then with ethyl acetoacetate in the presence of sodium hydroxide, forming the ring 2 - isopropyl -4 - methyl -6 - hydroxypyrimidine .
